Hello all

The ECB Play-Cricket team are holding two courses at the Club on the 25th and 26th March, starting at 7:30pm. This is the information I was given …..

The course on Monday 25th is aimed at age group managers and scorers who will deal with fixtures, results, picking the team and adding scores if you do it the paper way or for subsequently uploading scoreboards electronically from the app onto Play-Cricket after a match.

For this course you will need to have a Play-Cricket login in your own name that has membership of an appropriate admin right (ie Fixtures and Results Administrator) to HSCC’s Play-Cricket website before attending the session. If you haven’t and are a member contact me to be added.

If you are not a member of the HSCC Play-Cricket website you will need to Sign Up. To do this go to HSCC’s Play-Cricket website - https://horsleyandsend.play-cricket.com/ See Sign Up in the top right-hand corner. Once you are confirmed as a member contact me so that you can be added as a Fixtures and Results Administrator.

On Tuesday 26th the course will cover how to score using the Play-Cricket Scorer App. This course is aimed at anyone wanting to score electronically. For this session bring your device with the Play-Cricket Scorer App already loaded.

This is not an exclusive HSCC event as other clubs are attending and many places have already been taken so please Reply to me ASAP if you’d like to attend.

I am not organising the courses, but I have volunteered to gather the responses of who is going to attend and do the Play-Cricket admin for this purpose for HSCC. Any questions, let me know and I will endeavour to get the answers.

To put the importance of being able to score electronically into context, herewith an extract from the WSYCL 2019 General Playing Rules:

Uploading squads and reporting results on Play-Cricket
a. All clubs must add a minimum of 11 players in each of their non-pairs squads to the correct team in Play-Cricket before the start of the season. This must include first names and surnames in full, although if a parent objects to this a pseudonym may be used. Failure to do so before the start of the season may result in a penalty of up to 25 points for each squad involved.
b. All results must be entered on the Play-Cricket website by either team within 7 days of the fixture date. Failure to report a result within 7 days will result in the fixture being marked as cancelled and locked and both teams deducted one point.
c. All non-pairs matches must have full scorecards added inside 7 days with correct full player names for both sides (subject to rule 6a above). It is each team’s responsibility to ensure their full batting and bowling cards are entered on time and are correct. One point may be deducted from the defaulting team for any incomplete scorecard.
d. Where a proposed re-arrangement under rule 7e below is being considered or negotiated, the original fixture should me marked “match in progress” on Play-Cricket until a new date has been agreed or the fixtures is deemed to have been conceded by one team or the other, when the concession should be entered.

Kind regards
Delia
