The men’s section continues to grow from strength to strength, and it’s fantastic to see healthy competition for places across all four teams. This is a great sign for the club’s progress.

If more than 44 players are available on a given weekend, priority for selection will be given to those who have paid their subs and match fees. This is essential to keeping the club running smoothly. The aim is to build the club to have 5 playing XIs later in the season and also a Sunday Friendly XI so if you miss out on a Saturday, other opportunities to play will be there.

Selection is based on a number of factors, including:

- Commitment and availability (including training attendance)

- Past performances

- Ability and potential – we have a thriving junior section with a large group of 15-18 year olds we are wanting to push into higher senior teams. Some will have school matches but once school is finished, depending on ability we will put into their correct teams as they are a huge future of the club.
Match Fees & Subs – We are putting in place that if two match fees are missed in a row, you will not be up for selection until paid.

It’s important to understand that selection is not an exact science. We’re human, and we won’t always get it right — but we do our best with the information we have.

The captains and I will meet every Tuesday evening to make selection decisions, and our aim is to publish teams on Pitchero by Wednesday evening at the latest.

We know that not everyone will be happy with their selection every week. All we ask is that you respect the club’s decisions and give your all wherever you're picked to play. Ultimately, we want players to prove us wrong by performing so well that they earn promotion to a higher team.
