Club protocols on use of outside cricket facilities 9th June

The ECB on Friday 5th of June released new guidelines for the use of outside cricket facilities, incorporating the Governments new rules on social distancing released on 1st June 2020. These guidelines can be accessed via the following link.

Subsequent to the release of these guidelines, Horsley and Send CC have updated their protocols for the use of outside facilities at the club. It is critical for the health and safety of you and others at the club that we adhere to these protocols. The main change is to accommodate permission to train in larger groups, limited to 6 people or 5 people and 1 coach. In order to avoid large numbers at the club, to begin with, we are limiting the total number of users in our outside facilities to 16 (e.g. two groups of 6 plus 2 groups of 2 or other combinations). We have 5 net lanes that can be used in various areas of the club grounds. The club has set up an online booking system using Skedda to allow members to book the net facilities. Please use this facility so that we avoid over-crowding, avoid booking clashes and track and trace in case of infection. The instructions on how to use the booking system and the link follow the protocols.

The amended club protocols for the use of outside net facilities are:

1. Please do not attend the nets if you or anyone else in your household is in self-isolation or displaying Covid-19 symptoms

2. Members of the same family may practice together
as before
3. Group cricket activity, training or fitness in groups of up to six (6) people is permitted, keeping 2M apart at all times
4. Designated cricket coaches can undertake group sessions of up to six (6) people including the coach (5:1)
5. Maintain the 2-metre rule at all times

6. Bring your own equipment (protective gear, bats and balls)
7. Players should stick to using one ball in training either by bringing their own or being assigned a ball that could be cleaned between sessions
8. In coaching sessions, the coach will provide the balls - only coaches may touch the balls and
equipment – kick or hit balls back

9. Please do not use saliva or sweat on the ball

10. Please use toilet facilities before coming to the grounds as toilets are unlikely to be open

11. Hand sanitiser and wipes will be available – please use before
and after training sessions and after visiting the toilets

12. The clubhouse is out of bounds except in the event of an
emergency, for access to first aid

13. Please do not stay at the ground after your training

14. On arrival, the front gate will be closed but unlocked –
please close behind you on both arrival and exit (wear gloves or wash hands after)

15. Parents, please either remain in your cars, or watch from a safe distance outside the nets – observing the 2-m rule at all times
